Under the ENRICH Program being implemented by Ghashful with the support of PKSF, an annual sports and cultural competition was held in a festive atmosphere in No. 3, Bhabicha Union, Niamatpur Upazila of Naogaon district.
The main objective of the event was to provide opportunities for talent development among members of adolescent, elderly, youth development, and Samriddhi education support programs. Following ward-level selections, approximately 1,500 participants, including students from 18 learning centers and members of adolescent, elderly, and youth development programs, competed in 39 events. Great enthusiasm and excitement were observed among the participants in the various events of the competition.
In the sports competition, 117 winners were selected for the first, second, and third positions across the 39 events. A major attraction of the event was ensuring the transparency and quality of the competition under the supervision of experienced referees. Mr. Md. Sirajul Islam, a referee certified by the Bangladesh Football Federation, served as the judge for this competition.
The event was presided over by Mr. Md. Anwar Hossain, Deputy Manager of Ghashful Microfinance and Financial Inclusion Program. Mr. Md. Mamunur Rashid, Chairman of Bhabicha Union Parishad No. 3, was present as the chief guest. All the UP members of the union, village police, and local dignitaries were also present, who encouraged the participants and highly praised the Samriddhi program.
Mr. Md. Kohinur Islam, Coordinator of the Samriddhi Program, and Mr. Abdullah Al Maruf, Assistant Upazila Program Coordinator, along with Dr. Md. Imran Hossain, teachers, health inspectors, and all staff of Ghashful Niamatpur branch, were in overall charge of the event.
Local residents believe that such events not only foster a competitive spirit but also play an important role in enhancing harmony and unity among people of different strata of society. This initiative of Ghashful has been appreciated by all.
