The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) awarded 22 listed and non-listed companies for their extraordinary performance in 10 different banks, financial services, insurance companies, manufacturing, ICT, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), public sector entities, agriculture, corporate governance and integrated reporting for their best presented annual reports 2018. In the NGO category, Ghashful received the first prize, BRAC secured the second position and Sajida Foundation won the third prize in 19th ICAB award ceremony. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi handed over the 19th ICAB National Award for Best Presented Annual Reports 2018 to the winners at an event at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka on 30th December, 2019. The ICAB also hosted the SAFA Best presented Annual Report Awards and the SAARC Anniversary Award for Corporate Governance Disclosures 2018. The ICAB-nominated 24 Bangladeshi entities received awards and certificates of merit in different categories at the South Asian Federation of Accountants (Safa) Best Presented Annual Report Awards. Commerce Minister Mr. Tipu Munshi attended the event as chief guest, while Financial Reporting Council Chairman CQK Mushtaq Ahmed and Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam, M.P and Minister of State for External Affairs as special guest. SAFA President Dr. PVS Jagan Mohan Roa was present at the ceremony as the guest of honour. Mr. Aftabur Rahman Jafree, CEO of Ghashful received the award on behalf of Ghashful. Deputy Director, Finance and Accounts, Mr. Maruful Karim Chowdhury also attended the event.
