On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, the National Social Service Day was celebrated in Gumanmardan union under the ENRICH Program of Ghashful with the support of PKSF. The program was held at the Gumanmardan Union Parishad premises. The meeting was presided by SM Sarowar, the chairman of the union’s senior citizen committee. The theme of this year’s Social Service Day was “Building the country through social service, Bangladesh will be smart”. A colourful procession, discussion meeting, distribution of blankets and allowances were organized on this occasion.
The chief guest was Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA, Member of Executive Committee of Ghashful. Chairman of Gumanmardan Union Parishad, Mujibor Rahman spoke at the event, and Keshab Kumar Barua, President of Hathazari Press Club, and Aftabur Rahman Jafree, CEO of Ghashful were present as special guests. The discussion meeting was moderated by Md. Redwan, Coordinator of ENRICH project of Gumanmardan. In the meeting, speakers included SM Sarowar, General Secretary of Gumanmardan Senior Citizen Committee, Sultanul Alam Chowdhury, President of Ward Committee, Nurul Absar, and Bibi Fatima Shilpi. The guests distributed blankets and financial allowances among the elderly present.
A discussion meeting and a colorful procession were also organized at ENRICH Program Office in MekhaL union of Hathazari upazila, Chittagong on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, to celebrate the National Social Service Day 2024. Under the Ghashful Elderly Program, a number helpless and marginalized elderly people were given blankets, and elderly people were given financial allowance on this occasion. Distinguished social worker and educationist Abu Kalam Master was the chief guest at the event. Guests included Kazi Md. Mahbub Alam, Kazi Md. Musa, and Md. Arif, coordinator of the ENRICH program. A rally was organized to create awareness among all levels on the theme of the National Social Service Day this year, “Building the country through social service, Bangladesh will be smart.” The rally was attended by officials of the program, guests, and ordinary people.
